Ben is the Segment Marketing Manager for Power & Grid and is currently leading the strategy in the UK&I for Digital Grid and Hydrogen.  Having joined Schneider in 2015 he has been in a wide variety of roles across the business.  Ben is currently part of two RenewableUK Working Groups, System Flexibility & Services, and Green Hydrogen, to tackle policy and advocacy issues right across the sector.

Ben has a Masters of Science in Energy & Environment from the University of Leeds, with a specialist focus on alternate fuels and renewable technologies.

A graduate Chemical Engineer from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, I have been working in the Industry for almost forty years, with almost twenty of these in South Africa.

As Industry Principal – New Energies at AVEVA, my focus is on identifying Industry Trends in the area of Energy Transition our Industries are focusing on today. This includes aspects of Sustainability such as Hydrogen and Bio Fuels as well as the Circular Economy. These identified trends are then addressed in terms of AVEVA’s unique Industrial Software portfolio covering all aspects of Digitalisation, from simple Simulation work all the way though to complex Enterprise-Wide Engineering and Information Management systems.

As a graduate Chemical Engineer, my personal focus has primarily been on Simulation-based applications such as OTS and RTO, but today my role has broadened to the broad product spectrum offered by AVEVA and increasingly, my focus is on Digital Twins and their applicability in the New Energy area of Sustainability.
